Parker Messick’s Quiet MVP Rise | Cleveland Guardians News

Parker Messick, the Guardians’ quiet ace, is quietly dominating the mound and has earned his place on ESPN’s midseason MVP list at 34 — a surprise to casual fans but a testament to his elite performance. With a 9-7 record, a 2.59 ERA, 142 strikeouts, and just 40 walks in over 140 innings, he’s shown remarkable growth and become arguably the team’s most valuable player — even as star position players like Jose Ramirez sit out. His rise has sparked comparisons to Shane Bieber’s prime, and while no Guardians position player cracked the top 50, Messick’s excellence shines brighter in a season defined by injuries and offensive struggles.
