Parking Costs At University Hospital Limerick Labelled 'Blatant Profiteering'
from Clare FM · host Clare FM
An increase in car parking revenue generated at University Hospital Limerick has been described as “blatant profiteering off people in tragic situations”. HSE figures show revenue from parking charges at the hospital increased from €446,000 in 2021 to €1.44 million last year, representing an increase of more than 200%. The increase comes despite a commitment in the Programme for Government to reduce car parking costs at hospitals. HSE Regional Health Forum Midwest member and Shannonbanks Sinn Féin Councillor James Ryan has described the situation as “disturbing and wrong”.
