NolanThe conservation and/or preservation of both recreation- and historic-based resources begins with the unifying concept of environmental management. Two interdependent thrusts turn that concept into results. The first includes managing recreation, park, and historic resources in a way that provides both a quality user-experience as well as the creation of a quality environmental base. Second, the process must convey interpretative knowledge to the public. Simply stated, the protection of special resources is one of either physical conservation or interpretive conservation.
