Walter Haut issued a press release. It stated personnel from the Field's 509th Operations Group had recovered a "flying disc", which landed on a ranch near Roswell. The Army Air Force would soon reverse their story, saying it was just a weather balloon. The U.S. Air Force said then and now that nothing paranormal happened – no flying saucer, no alien bodies, and no retrieved extraterrestrial technology.
