Part 2- The Shield of Faith

Send us Fan MailIn this podcast Brian continues to discuss the importance of the shield of faith.  The apostle Paul exhorted us to "above all take up the shield of faith."  The second application to the shield of faith is the shield is a door and Jesus is the door in which the sheep find pasture (food and drink- provision).  It is through Christ that we have been reconciled to the Father and our identity is as sons of God that cry out "Abba, Father."  A subset to this door is the door of the houses of the Israelites during Moses' tenure.  The blood was applied to the doorposts and lintels of the household but the door itself is spiritual fathers who are a covering to their spiritual sons and the fathers act as an immunity against the destroyer.  The spiritual fathers help "watch over" the souls of their sons as the Lord assembles them into His spiritual household.  These different aspects of the shield of faith guard an individual's soul against the fiery darts of the evil one.
