🖋Part 2 - Writer Angie Stenning: Podcast Miniseries on Women's History Month, Jane Austen and #SavingSanditon!

from The Edutainer with Dr. Erin L. Albert · host Dr. Erin L. Albert

(Podcast miniseries art of Jane Austen courtesy of the University of Texas Libraries, The University of Texas at Austin.) Our Women's History Month celebration of Jane Austen continues! Today's chat is with a woman who I so admire - she created HER VERY OWN HAPPILY EVER AFTER ENDING of Sanditon after watching season 1!  Tune in to hear more about how she became active in the Sanditon Sisterhood, and more important - where you can read HER adapted happily ever after endings for Sanditon, even if we never get them on TV or the Big Screen! Angie's bio: Angie Stenning began her career in a variety of administrative roles in early 1990’s and went on to join the U.K. Civil Service in 1997. During her Civil Service career, spanning over twenty years, Angie has fulfilled a variety of managerial roles and is currently employed as an Information Manager. Angie began writing after the loss of her mother to cancer, and wrote her first published poem at the age of 11.  She continued to write poetry throughout her teen’s and twenty’s and a number have been published in anthologies. After taking an extended break from writing, Angie only started writing again during the 2019 ITV televised Jane Austen drama, Sanditon. Since then, Angie has returned to writing poetry, but has found a new love for prose. Her first fan fiction Return to Sanditon was published to Archive of Our Own (AO3) and Wattpad in November 2019 and has been read over 30,000 times. She continues her story with two further Return to Sanditon Novella’s (Crowe & Edward’s stories). In January this year, Angie was accepted onto the Romantic Novelists Association (RNA) New Writers Scheme and is currently writing her first full length novel set in the regency period. Angie works full time, is studying for a Charters Managers Degree and is mum to two boys, two dogs and two ponies and lives in rural North Dorset on the south coast of England.
