Sermon Highlights

Why do we fall asleep?
We're comfortable and we're bored.

Comfort that is given by God is grace that leads us to spiritual rest.

Comfort that is taken by man is idolatry that leads the spiritual slumber.

The world’s comfort is a false prophet that says “peace, peace” when there is no peace.

The World’s Comforts:
- Always involves taking
- Done in isolation
- Blinds your vision
- Drains your strength
- Imprisons its host

God’s Rest:
- Always involves receiving
- Done in family
- Gives you vision
- Enables your strength
- Empowers its recipient

Rest comes after obedience.

We’re falling asleep because we’re not watching the right thing.

Pick a shift on the wall.

We fall asleep alone, we stay awake together.
