Part 82: A Foregone Conclusion
from Pastor Sherman Burkhead · host Sherman Burkhead
Jesus being condemned by the Jewish religious leaders was a forgone conclusion. The reason is simple; the hard hearts of the religious leaders would not allow them to see the truth of who Christ was, and as a result their hate forced them to condemn an innocent man without any evidence. His trial was a farse. But there is more to it than that. The true reason why this event was a forgone conclusion is because it was ordained by God. What we see in this text is Jesus standing alone, abandoned by those closest to him, left to face the hatred of his enemies. But what we learn from all this is the fact that even in the worst of circumstances Jesus is still fully in control.
