The Old Testament was primarily written in Biblical Hebrew, Jesus likely spoke Aramaic in everyday settings, and the canonical New Testament has been preserved in Koine Greek. Therefore, claims about the Bible’s “original language” should specify which part of Scripture, which historical setting, and which manuscript tradition is being discussed.
