PARTNER PERSPECTIVE Kevan Sherwood- Extremely Premature Birth, Placenta Rupture, Long NICU Stay

from Moony Birth Stories · host Teagan McMeekin

Kevan Sherwood, from Saskatoon, SK joins me for our second partner perspective episode.  He and his partner Jenn were surprised to find out they were expecting as it was quite early in their relationship and they hadn't been trying at the time.  It didn't take long for them to get excited and look forward to being parents.  Jenn had been told early on in her pregnancy that she had a short cervix.  Kevan and Jenn knew this could mean she would dilate sooner than average but they were very caught off guard when labor began when Jenn was only 25 weeks and 6 days pregnant.  With the guidance of a great healthcare team. they were able to stall labor for a little while longer and their son Liam ended up being born at only 27 weeks and 2 days.  Kevan opens up about what it's like to have a baby so premature and their lengthy experience of 76 days in NICU.  Liam was so strong and is now a healthy and thriving little guy.Support the show
