Party and Bull

from mancub's podcast · host chip corwin

Very nostalgic underground breakbeat mix I did. I remember this mix greatly. I was at Burningman on a tuesday in 2004. Sound camps were just starting to pop up on the esplanade. Space Cowboys(my crew) only did 2 parties. I was hungry for more. I hopped on my bike to see what else was out there. Illuminaughty was a few pedals away. I cruised into camp and talked to a sound guy. He tells me that tuesday nights was "trance night". I agreed. And....I said I was a trance dj....thus getting a spot on the line-up as an opener. I was so giddy! I rode back to camp to tell the news. Friends were shocked that I got on the line up because I don't spin trance. I told them I lied. Cruised back at dark to open my set and a wicked dust storm ripped the dj booth a new one. Whatever...the show must go on...I started my set, dust completely covering my LP's and watched the needle clean as it rode the grooves. I miss vinyl....anyway...This is my performance set...I played it twice that night cause other dj's did not want to go on after I played the hottest nu-skool funky breaks set of my life. Definitely not Trance.
