If you want to go out and do something fun somewhere in the US on the Fourth of July, I don’t think that makes you unconscionable or demonstrates the character of a hypocrite. And there are LOTS of opportunities! Joy can be an act of resistance and there are still perspectives that can be celebrated, even if you need to take a break from some of your ideological angst to do so. Take a break!
