Then you have the true underdog story of the Washington Nationals, who found themselves at 12 games below .500 in late May. But not only did they dig out of that whole, but they took care of the NL favorite in the Dodgers and destroyed the Cardinals in their route to the Finale, led by their stellar starting rotation.
