Pastor Jared: Stepping out Stepping in: all authority

Certain situations in life require authorization. Maybe you work at a job where you have a special security badge that you have to scan to get to certain areas. Suppose you are going on a vacation where you have to get an approval or authorization. The same thing is true in our spiritual lives. Call it authority if you will. It has been given to every believer. God expects us to use this authority. It is the authority to make disciples. Jesus has authorized all believers to make disciples. He has commissioned us to do this task. Too often we as believers can make excuses and follow our own agenda. We can make excuses as to why we can’t step out of our comfort zone. Excuses such as “I’m too busy” or “Isn’t that what church is for?” Oftentimes churches are more full of excuses, but God doesn’t buy our excuses. God wants each of us actively involved in making disciples of those around us. We are going to start a new sermon series on how to step out of our comfort zone and step into someone’s life.
