Pastoral Qualifications

Those who desire to lead God’s church must be qualified.In 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Paul lays out the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry. The emphasis is not on charisma, influence, or talent, but on proven character. An overseer must be above reproach, self-controlled, faithful in his home, mature in the faith, and well thought of by those outside the church.God cares deeply about the character of those entrusted with shepherding His people. These qualifications remind us that spiritual leadership begins with a life shaped by Christ and His Word.
