Helen Walden grew up in a NSW Country town, the youngest of 3 born to English migrants who grew up in London during World War 2.
After a short stint as a naval officer, Helen joined IBM and the high life of the corporate world. At the age of 32 all that changed when she was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and was told she was not expected to live for more than 18 months. This is the story of how Helen extended her life for another 27 years, finally receiving a liver transplant in 2021 at the height of the COVID pandemic.
