Patient Care Beyond Medical Diagnosis 01

In this lecture, we emphasized the importance of understanding patients holistically-considering the psychological, emotional, and cultural aspects of illness. We use examples to illustrate some complex ideas. We encourage empathetic listening and patient narrative understanding. And we highlight the critical difference between treating a medical condition and truly hearing a patient's experience.
