Patient Mix

Today’s BIG idea is based on a project I’m working on for a group in the southeast.  You are familiar with payer mixes.  Have you ever created a patient mix?  This practice gathered some basic demographic information about their patients and then added fields to track patient diagnostic categories.  Once they have those categories defined, they can trend their patient mix over time.  Listen to today’s podcast for ideas on how to create a patient mix, what kind of data to include, where to go to get that data, and some ways you might use a patient mix in your practice.  How would you physician recruitment, your marketing, or your growth plans be different if you better understood your patient mix?
