SCRIPTURE TEXT: Matthew 24:32-51   Parables (short & simple stories often using symbolic meanings to convey a moral or spiritual lesson) formed a cornerstone of Jesus’ earthly teaching & preaching. Many of Jesus’ parables reflect the key role patience plays in the development of our character & faith. As we begin a sermon series looking at some of Jesus’ “Parables of Patience,” we focus on Matthew 24, in which Jesus deploys a number of pithy parables, including that of the Fig Tree, to teach His disciples how best to patiently prepare for His promised return.
