Patrice Motsepe appointed President of CAF

Patrice Motsepe, the new president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), says it has to put itself in the shop window of the world to reap great financial rewards. Motsepe was installed as the eighth president of the football governing body during the 43rd CAF congress in Rabat, Morocco, on Friday. On Tuesday Motsepe held his first press conference in South Africa since his election; he said that the Africa Cup of Nations should be held every two years. There has been an argument that a Nations Cup every four years would increase the value and competitiveness of the competition‚ and perhaps ease some of the club-vs-country battles for players to be released.
