Patrick Radden Keefe: On Writing and Rogues

Send us Fan MailPatrick Radden Keefe is a gifted writer, on subjects ranging from the Troubles in Northern Ireland ("Say Nothing"), one family's role in the opioid crisis ("Empire of Pain") to his latest book "Rogues," a collection of his pieces in The New Yorker.  And there is an utterly compelling podcast called "Wind of Change," all about the rumor that the CIA may have written a song about the changes in Eastern Europe in the late 1980s and early 1990s.  He grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, an experience that prepared him for a lifetime of interviewing all different types as a reporter.  Despite a sterling academic resume, there were more than a few years of struggle before his pieces were published and his books received critical acclaim.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Learn more about your ad choices.
