Patriotism and the Bible

  Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, examines what polls are telling us about Americans’ lack of understanding of not only the history of Independence Day but why we celebrate this day. It has become clear that the majority of Americans do not understand how our form of democratic government works. He goes on to point out how patriotism in America has declined to the point that only 11% of Democrats believe that the United States is the greatest country in the world. Dr. Hall reviews the history of the Revolutionary War and the freedoms provided in our Constitution along with freedoms taken for granted. It is asserted that the Bible teaches Christians to be good citizens and obey governing authorities. In other words, Scripture demands that Christians exhibit patriotism and support for government because it was installed by God.
