patriotism: the last legitimate prejudice or a value?

Is Patriotism a story?  Where you are born is the luck of the draw, so should your loyality and  allegiance  dependent on your fate of birth.  So do you believe things about your country based on the fact that you were born there?  Are your beliefs about your country based on objective analysis or just based on patriotism? Do you believe those born in America are superior to those born elsewhere, say Mexico?
