Patriots Release Dobbs, Sign DeVito as Maye's Backup

The New England Patriots are shaking up their quarterback room by releasing Joshua Dobbs, saving $3.7 million against the salary cap. Theyve signed Tommy DeVito as the primary backup to starter Drake Maye, offering him a two-year deal worth up to $7.4 million with incentives. DeVito, who impressed in practice last year, will now step into a key role after Dobbs solid experience and leadership. The team plans to add a third quarterback, possibly through the draft, while DeVitos starter experience from the Giants provides reliable support for Maye.
