Patriots Reshuffle Coaching Staff After Terrell Williams Return

The New England Patriots are restructuring their coaching hierarchy by transitioning Terrell Williams into a senior staff position under head coach Mike Vrabel. Williams originally accepted the defensive coordinator role but was forced to step away during the 2025 season to undergo treatment for prostate cancer. In his absence, inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr managed the defensive playcalling, leading the unit during the team's successful run to Super Bowl LX. Now that Williams has been medically cleared to return, the organization is creating a new role for him while officially opening the coordinator job. This move allows the team to retain Williams' extensive experience and leadership while potentially promoting Kuhr for his recent success. These changes highlight a period of staff reconfiguration following the team’s deep postseason campaign.
