Paul Fidrych - FNRad S11E18
from FNRad Snowboarding Podcast · host Erik Traulsen
Send us Fan MailPaul Fidrych was the director of hardgoods product management for Burton during snowboarding’s golden era. Paul oversaw production of the Brushie trouts, Terje swords, and was a key player in the development of the Burton custom. And this year the Burton Custom turned 30 and the story behind its development highlights a commitment to progression, of materials, building techniques, art, and the culture of snowboarding. The custom was a catalyst for change and in no small way that change was driven by Paul’s engineering sensibility and his direct communication with some of the best snowboarders in the world at the time including people like Craig Kelly, Bryan Iguchi, Victoria Jealous, and Jason Brown. Paul was also a facilitator at Windell’s summer camp on Mount hood the year I went there 1991. Paul’s life in snowboarding has benefited us all and I’m excited to bring you this interview from his chalet in whistler.Support the showCheck us out at https://www.fnradpodcast.comFNRad 12 is presented by Phantom Helihttps://phantomheli.com/Linestryhttps://linestry.com/FNRad 12 Sponsors:Burton Snowboardshttps://www.burton.comBluebird Coffee Tuning and Rentalshttps://bluebirdsquamish.com/Anon Opticshttps://www.burton.com/en-ca/collections/gogglesThe Pro Standard Step On and Supermatic Quick Releasehttps://www.prostandard.com/products/push-button-quick-release-upgrade-for-step-on-bindingsMint Tourshttps://minttours.com/FNRad 12 SupportPacific Boarderhttps://pacificboarder.com/Mount Seymourhttps://mtseymour.ca/Grouse Mountainhttps://www.grousemountain.com/Cypress Mountainhttps://www.cypressmountain.com/Baldy Mountain Resort in Osoyoos BC...
