Thinking back to Burning Man 2019 now, during our time of ‘collective isolation’ is a salve for caged souls. I am sure everyone who reads this would rather be there than living in our current (sur)reality — BUT — This is also a moment to look forward. I have always felt that in life one’s highs are defined by one's lows, and vice versa. You don’t know how happy you can be until you’ve found the other extreme, and then you notice how fleeting both poles are. The sky is a deep and darkening blue with a few wispy clouds to frame your bliss. You are surrounded by your best friends in the thick of the best party anywhere on the planet at that moment…maybe ever. You have an icy cocktail in your hand from the bar but the chills that travel down your spine are from the music, the dance, and the love.
