Thousands of unlucky Kiwis have been cheated out of money from scams and fraud. The upcoming New Zealand International Fraud Film Festival seeks to expose these crimes and show the impact they have in New Zealand and overseas. Festival spokesperson and former acting director of the Serious Fraud Office Paul O’Neill explained that this festival was inspired by a similar idea developed by the Dutch. Paul O’Neill says fraud is a prevalent crime worldwide and the hook of entertainment will help raise awareness for this under-reported issue.
