"Paul's First Letter to the Thessalonians — The Coming of the Lord, Dispensationally Considered: Living in the Light, Not in the Darkness”
from libertyMESSENGER.org · host Jim Spoerl Pastor / Teacher
Paul’s revelation in chapter 4 of this first letter to the Thessalonians establishes much regarding the upcoming Rapture of the Church which is His Body. The nature of that event is quite different from what was revealed for the Jewish saints by Christ in his earthly ministry for those awaiting their earthly kingdom inheritance. Christ’s detailed revelation fits into the period of the oft prophesied Tribulation and the details he gives match perfectly with the books of Daniel and Revelation among others. That revelation is very different from what Paul gives here in this letter. Here the focus is on believers who have died being resurrected gloriously concurrently with living believers — and then the much-awaited entry into heavenly glory. There is nothing here about entry into the earthy kingdom because that is not the promised inheritance for us living in the Dispensation of the Grace of God. Chapter 5 will continue this dispensational subject and more precious truth will be found there.
