She began practicing yoga in 1999 and has been teaching since 2007. Octavia founded Starshine & Clay, an online and retreat space for Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color to rest and restore. Octavia has received national attention for her work training yoga teachers and diversifying the yoga and wellness industry. Her work has been featured in Yoga Journal,Mantra, Well + Good, CNN, WXIA, and Atlanta Magazine.Disabled But Not Really's mission is to empower and inspire individuals with disabilities to overcome challenges and reach their potential by fostering a mindset of courage, confidence, and competence. They aim to educate individuals and their communities on ways to help improve the overall quality of life for people living with a disability.
