pawsitive reinforcement for dog AND owner

When I came downstairs this morning (to start the day), I noticed that my dog had an accident in the house. Post-cleanup, I thought about how I non-react to such things by not scolding her, then realized that I actually treat her as I wish to be treated. This awareness reminded me of the times in my life where others told me 'not to get my hopes up' or "you're not gonna succeed, so get over it'.
