Talked with Marjorie Sullivan, Vice President, Communications and Vanessa Moss, Communications Manager, Palm Health Foundation. They recently changed their name to Palm Health from Palm Healthcare. Palm Health was created from the sales of St. Mary's and Good Sam and the monies designated for community health programs. They are currently doing October's Train the Brain campaign. this campaign is designed to engage the public in taking care of their brain health, like they would their body. Listeners can go to Trainthebrainpbc.org and sign up to take the Brain Training pledge. It includes various activities such as: sleep 7 hours, add fruits/veg to meals, be active for at least 30 minutes, meditation, spending time with family/friends and showing kindness to everyone. They are doing a bunch of different programs throughout the month to support the different goals. Coming up on the 29th they have Healthy Cooking for Thriving Couples and families - a cooking demo taught by Chef Michael Schenk of Farmer's Table restaurant in Boca. Then on the 30th, Lindsey White will be teaching a Train the Brain Yin Yoga class at Little Ocean Yoga. For more details, listeners can go to www.trainthebrainpbc.org.
