PC Colin Nash and Elvis

from A Dog's Life with Anna Webb · host Anna Webb, Mike Hanson

This week Anna is joined by PC Colin Nash and his PD (Police Dog) Elvis. As the proud winners of the Rising Star Award at the inaugural Thin Blue Paw Awards, two year old Elvis is not Colin’s first PD, but he is his first Labrador. It’s perhaps no surprise that Elvis is excelling at being a passive and proactive detection dog. He was bred by the Metropolitan Police before joining the City of London Police Dog Unit. About the Thin Blue Paw Foundation:The Thin Blue Paw Foundation is a national dog welfare charity which protects, celebrates and rehabilitates both serving and retired police dogs from across the United Kingdom. The Foundation was founded by a group of individuals who are passionate about improving the health and welfare of serving and retired police dogs across the United Kingdom. Many people are unaware that retired police dogs do not receive financial support in their retirement from the force they served with, meaning the responsibility for their care and vet bills fall solely to their ex-handler or new owner.Unable to get pet insurance due to their working life, many are left with ongoing vet bills which can amount to thousands. The Thin Blue Paw Foundation provides much needed financial support to over 280 unsung canine heroes and their owners to enable them to have a long and happy retirement.Make a donation here or follow on Instagram: @thinbluepawTwitter: @ThinBluePawFor more about Anna go to annawebb.co.ukMusic and production by Mike Hanson for Pod People ProductionsCover art by JaijoCover photo by Rhain Ap Gruffydd at Gruff PawtraitsTo advertise on or sponsor A Dog's Life email: [email protected]
