Good morning everyone, it's Pastor Diego. Please allow me to give you a word of truth and encouragement today. A lot of people are asking, how can we have peace in our hearts when our world is currently turned upside down? As we have all seen the kind of peace that the world gives is conditional.
It stands on a shaky foundation that can change with every passing day. Some people find peace and security and money until they lose their job or the stock market crashes. Other people find peace and relationships or in their marriage until they fail. But listen, the kind of peace that Jesus promises is based on the foundation of who God is.
It's on his character, it's unchanging, it's loving, gracious, merciful, and faithful. God's peace thrives in the midst of our trials, tribulations, and the dark valleys. When our lives change, when we find ourselves in the middle of difficult situations, when we wake up every day to read about racial injustice, the pandemic, death, and economic uncertainty, we are left with a choice. The choice to trust God and find peace in him, or the choice to let anxiety and fear grip our hearts and control us.
I encourage you to find peace in Jesus. John 14 verse 27 says, I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give, so don't be troubled or afraid. The peace that Jesus gives you comes from the very heart of God.
It's a peace that reminds us in the deepest moment of our trials and tribulations that he is faithful, that he keeps his promises. It assures us that we are his and that nothing, no person, no fear, no enemy can take us out of God's hand. And it comforts us with the truth that we are secure in him. I pray that the peace of God will reign in your hearts and your minds during these difficult times.
