Peace Be with You Too, Thomas

Eight days after the resurrection Jesus again stands among his disciples, now with Thomas present, and invites the doubter to see his hands and side. The text does not say Thomas touched him; Jesus' offer exposes his unbelief, and Thomas confesses, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus blesses those who have not seen and yet believe. The risen Lord is the same Jesus who came in the flesh, and the gospel was written so that readers may believe that he is the Christ and have life in his name.
