Peacefully Waiting (Matt 11.20-30) - 10-24-21

from Messages from the Word of God · host Nwankwo via Apogee

The Scripture texts are Isaiah 55.1-13 and Matthew 11.20-30 from the thought, “Peacefully Waiting.”It is good to pray to God, “Your will, Your way, and Your timing.” Admittedly, some of us are okay with His will. We are fine with His way. Where many of us get tripped up is with the notion of His timing. Waiting on God still means we must do. We must act. But we do and act in God’s timing. What can we learn from Matt 11.20-30?I.To peacefully wait on God, pray immediately. II.To peacefully wait on God, give thanks even during the trial.III.To peacefully wait on God, submit everything to Jesus and trust Him with the outcome. We don’t like to wait. But again, our character is developed during the wait. God wants us to pray immediately. When we sense the first sign of anxiety or stress, pray immediately. But not only that. He wants us to give thanks even amid the storm. It’s called having an attitude of gratitude. Jesus was constantly thanking the Father. So should we. And finally, He also wants us to submit everything to Jesus and trust Him with the outcome. Allow the Holy Spirit to set you free. We are not responsible for the outcome. We are responsible for our obedience to the LORD. This is how we peacefully wait. Amen.
