Peculiarities of Communication with Third-Country Nationals in Detention Facilities and Possibilities of the ECHR Case-law Guidance

As such it may prevent deadly conflicts, tense situations and tragic consequences. In order to ensure that the communication is effective and affects the parties involved in a positive (and not negative) way, the intercultural communication needs to follow particular patterns, especially when the cultural backgrounds of individuals involved in communication differ greatly. Such situations are experienced daily by the Members of the Police Force working in detention facilities and third-country nationals being detained in such facilities.
