Pedestrian First the Street Debate, Giving Tuesday: Running for MS and March Madness in MKE

from Spanning The State

Today on Spanning the State Kristin Brey and Brian Noonan discuss pedestrians first streets as a new proposal to turn Regent Street in Madison into a pedestrian street or deer district has been circling the web. They compare this idea to events in Milwaukee and how they have been adjusted streets in the past and whether they think it is or isn’t a good idea. Then on Giving Tuesday, March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month and Ashley Schneider founder of the MS Run the US joins Kristin and Brian to talk about a 3,260-mile relay run across the country to continue to raise awareness. Schneider tells Kristin and Brian more about the disease and its effects, how she was introduced to the disease and began advocating, as well as the ins and outs of the massive relay race and how she has brought it to a local level. Later Kristin and Brian talk about their relationship to running and their experience in running various 5k's and marathons.
