Going from one sport to ultrarunning can be an interesting experience; especially if you have big goals for yourself as an athlete. And for our guest today, he is currently going through that transition, but he is coming from THREE sports as a professional triathlete, and making the dive into the world of trail ultrarunning. Pedro Gomes is a professional triathlete, trail runner, and athlete on the Aravaipa Racing Team who has won IRONMAN races, podiumed many triathlons, and has begun his journey into diving into the trail and ultrarunning world. Striving to always improve, Pedro’s drive for progress and desire to make the most out of life is helping him to learn quickly as he heads into the ultra world. In this episode, Pedro describes how he went from a nonathletic background to a professional triathlete, why he believes biking is a key to building great running fitness, and how he is approaching racing ultras while also racing triathlons in the same season.
