Today, the Safari takes our second stop of our cross-country trip as we visit the Cincinnati Zoo to talk to Tami Ware, and interpretive keeper at the zoo! Along with this incredible first-time guest, we also have what started as a co-hosting situation with Colleen Adams, who you definitely know from her past episodes as a guest on the podcast! I say it started as a co-hosting situation, because the conversation quickly turned into so much more than that, as the three of us discuss Tami's amazing journey to the zoo, taking care of Fiona the hippo as a baby, make Rico the porcupine famous, and so much more even before we go deep!  Then, once we get really deep, we discuss compassion fatigue, humility, the pros and cons of feelings of ownership of the animals felt by keepers and zoo fans alike, how to train for trauma, and so much more!
