Pelvic Pain: Sex, Health, & How It’s Affecting You with Amadea Kezar

from Make Peace With Food · host Sherry Shaban

Why are some topics too “taboo” to talk about? Did you know, One in four women over the age of 18 experience episodes of leaking urine involuntarily? Or that one-third of women experience pain during sex? Those two things alone can impact not only your health and fitness but also your mental health, confidence, self-esteem, and quality of living. If we created more awareness around topics such as these, more people would realize that there is a cure and a way to live life free of pain and discomfort. Amadea Kezar is a certified physiotherapist and member of the Ordre Professional de la Physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ). She holds a Master’s degree in physiotherapy from McGill University and has 11 years of expertise in pelvic floor dysfunction for men, women, and the transgender community. She is also the founder of ASK Physiothérapie, a pelvic health clinic treating urinary, anorectal, and pre-post natal dysfunction as well as persistent pelvic and genital pain. On this episode of the Fall In Love with Fitness podcast, Amadea and I discuss why she loves helping women who experience pain during sex, how she became an expert in the pelvic floor, and why we should create awareness around pelvic issues.
