When Mike Tran’s sentence was commuted by California Governor Gavin Newsom, the bureaucratic maze threatened to crush his hopes. It was Anya, now his fiercest advocate, who fought to make sure his story of redemption didn’t end on a technicality or paperwork glitch. The two look forward to finally meeting in person, hopefully at the museum where Mike’s art hangs. Anya’s experiences have inspired her to volunteer weekly at a men’s facility, using art as a tool for self-discovery and healing.
