Penn State's board is recommending seven satellite campus closings, including three in Western PA.
from Pittsburgh All Local
Penn State's board is recommending seven satellite campus closings, including three in Western PA. The proposed cuts include, Fayette, New Kensington and Shenango. The confirmation comes months after Penn State officials began contemplating a closure plan in response to declining enrollment, a projected drop in Pennsylvania’s college-age population and a lack of state funding. This list has come to light before a final vote by the board of trustees, and the university pushed back against media reports listing the seven campuses to be closed. A statement on university's website says until the board votes on the closures, nothing is final. If approved, over 11-hundred students at the Fayette, New Kensington and Shenango campuses would be affected.
