Pentagon Ammo Shortfalls Exposed | Miami News

The Pentagon’s inspector general just dropped a bombshell: Operation Epic Fury in Iran is hemorrhaging ammo and hardware, with billions spent on munitions and critical inventory shortfalls exposing major production bottlenecks. Four F-15s, one F-35, seven tankers, and 30 MQ-9 drones are gone or damaged — assets that won’t be flying anytime soon. Defense Secretary Hegseth is pushing manufacturers to speed up, but even top-tier missile production — like Lockheed Martin’s Patriot missiles at $4 million apiece — can barely keep pace. Meanwhile, State Department costs ballooned to nearly $80 million for evacuations, plus $184 million in diplomatic building damage across the Middle East — all while U.S. bases suffer hundreds of additional strikes.
