Pentecost

Acts 2:1-4 (NKJV)When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.Acts 1:6-8 (NIV)Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”Pentecost is not an event, it is a life changing encounter! The purpose of Pentecost is that we can become people of confidence and boldness, fearless men and women who can preach the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost and dying world. When we speak, we speak with FAITH, CONFIDENCE and HOPE. The purpose of Pentecost is that we would become a people of boldness, confident of what God has done in us, so that we can turn the world upside down with His love. Also, it is so that we are empowered to preach the true Gospel demonstrated with signs and wonders. Pentecost is not an event, but a life changing encounter that has a long-time effect on us, changing us into a fearless people, full of fervent faith.
