People Are More Important Than Things

MASTER LIFE LESSON #1: People Are More Important Than Things Over the next week we’ll go over 5 life lessons, and today’s lesson is that people are more important than things. We get caught up in overachieving and overworking and doing and doing more than just being. One of my favourite times of day is when I’m laying with my kids at night and being playful in the moment. Begin your day with a deposit into your love account and end with depositing into your and other people’s love accounts. If your child is drawing on the carpet, do you yell at them or draw with them? Your relationships will determine your health more than any genes, exercise habits, or physical predispositions will. If you’re physically healthy but you have terrible relationships, you will not be healthy. Nothing is impossible when your relationships are attuned. If I gave you 10 million dollars but told you you couldn’t see your friends and family ever again, you most likely wouldn’t accept the money. Think about this, if you had 6 months left to live, what would you do? Where would you go? Will you live with love or resentment? What if you had 6 weeks left to live? What about 6 days left to live? 6 hours? 6 minutes? Who do you spend your last 6 minutes with and what do you say? You can’t take money with you when you die. The only thing you can take with you is that which you gave away, so make your relationships number 1. How may you serve today? That may just be a moment of attention to notice someone is in need of help. The biggest deposit is the presence you give to your loved ones. Has your ego been in the driver’s seat? Has love? When you lead with loving, helping and connecting with others, abundance will come to you. The moment you help others is the moment you are taken care of. If you want love in your life give it. If you want friends you need to be a friend. Live life as if you will get the shorter end of the stick. Give more than you give, and in the long run you’ll notice you’ve gotten so much more in return. Life’s journey will be so much more meaningful, powerful, and passionate.
