People Matter - A Study on Evangelism Part 1 Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2022.02.27 What do you think of when you hear the word, Evangelism? For many it conjures up images of street corner preachers, fire and brimstone messages or simply a role for those who are the most godly and chosen to be pastors. The word for evangelist simply means “a bringer of good tidings”. On a daily basis we get to do that in many ways… when a baby is born and we share the good news, when we get a job promotion, get a great discount on those shoes we’ve been wanting or sharing some life-changing experience. However, when it comes to sharing our faith and telling others about the Good News of Jesus, we don’t always know how or where to begin and we can feel overwhelmed. What if it was as simple as beginning with an invitation? When was the last time you invited someone to church with you? If you have but have met resistance, do you know why? Take a moment to think about what it would take for them to come to church. What would draw them in and keep them coming?  How do you keep the conversation going or know what to say to encourage them to check out Christianity? Throughout this series we will explore all of this as well as God’s plan to use you to bring “good tidings” to others. We will learn that people, ALL people, matter to God, how to have open conversations with others about your faith and that there are many ways to witness to others as you live out our faith publicly.
