Perchance to Dream & Pierce the Heavens, Superman! (Batman: TAS and My Adventures with Superman)

Randy and Kris are joined by Pop Break superstar Josh Sarnecky (host of The Anniversary Brothers, Anime x Pop, and TV Break) for the latest Bat Chat! In addition to exploring the classic Batman: The Animated Series episode “Perchance to Dream,” the panel also explores the episode’s spiritual cousin: My Adventures with Superman’s “Pierce the Heavens, Superman!” Media/Lit values great storytelling, and this unique pairing certainly showcases superhero storytelling at its finest. In addition to examining how these two episodes explore the story device of a hero trapped within a dream or simulation, the panel also seizes the opportunity to compare and contrast two of the most iconic superheroes of all time. In fact, this episode comparison turns out to be the perfect vehicle for underlining the defining traits that make these timeless heroes complex and empathetic figures. Want to get in touch?
