Superbly illustrated with a wealth of detailed history, I strongly recommend it. Princess Watahwaso, a full-blooded Penobscot Indian mezzo-soprano, gave a recital at the North Greenwich Congregational Church a century ago in September, 1923. In October 1920, the people of Greenwich learned that communicating with anyone on Mars would be challenging -to say the least. Auto robes -worn to protect people driving and riding in early open-air automobiles- were manufactured in the Mianus Manufacturing Company's mills in 1908.
