Perdure

Perdure is a verb that means to continue to exist. Our word of the day shares its Latin ancestry with such words as ‘durable’ and ‘endure.’ They all come from the word durare (doer ARE ay) meaning ‘to last.’ Here’s an example of perdure in use: After three weeks of failure, we weren’t sure if our company would perdure. But here we are eight years later, still in existence and still going strong.
